Javea town can be found at the northern end of the Costa Blanca located within the area known as the 'Golden Triangle', so named due to the particularly lush green vegetation and variety of flora and forna. The area is said to have one of the healthiest climates in the world (source: World Health Organisation) and this part of the Costa Blanca regularly records over 300 days of sunshine per year. The town is conveniently located midway between the airports of Alicante and Valencia being about an hour and quarters drive from each. The photograph below is a view across Javea and shows the region's most distinctive feature - the Montgo mountain. As you enter Javea from the north it clearly resembles an elephant with its trunk dipping into the sea. A large cave resembling an eye completes the illusion and folklore says that once you gaze into the elephant's eye, you will aways return! |

There are many self-catering villas and apartments to support the healthy influx of visitors and holidaymakers. Accommodation can be found in a wide variety of locations from the heart of the thriving and vibrant Port area to the semi-isolated orange groves that are still found in every open space. Visitors of all ages will find a holiday to suit their taste and budget. Although many British and other European people have fallen in love with Javea and made it their homes, the area has not lost it's traditional Spanish heritage, and has never become a centre for package-holidays. |

Javea has three quite distinct and different areas. Javea Port is a bright and vibrant fishing port sheltered under the cliffs of Cap de San Antoni. Spanish families mix comfortably with a cosmopolitan cross-section of holidaymakers of all ages, making this a delightful place to relax and enjoy the street cafes, bars and fine restaurants. Find a table on the promenade (top photo) and enjoy a cocktail or a coffee or a fine meal whilst watching the fishing vessels, luxury yachts and sports cruisers ply the waters just a stone's throw away. There is even a small sandy beach. The apartment at Jardines del Sol is situated just three minutes walk from the sea-front at Javea Port. |

Arenal Beach is popular with sea and sand loving holidaymakers. The beautiful crescent shaped sandy beach slopes gently into the sea and many families with small children can be found playing there. The promenade is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants and can be especially lively at night during July and August. Jardines del Sol is well away from this frantic activity being located in the heart of the Port area. The Old Town - the heart of Javea and not to be missed. About fifteen minutes walk from the apartment at Jardines del Sol and set slightly inland from the coast it is a place to glimpse a facinating mix of traditional Spanish architecture with charming narrow streets, and the modern thriving commercial activity that bustles during the day. Visit on a Thursday morning and you will find one of the best open markets in the area. |
